MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517060242 A) filed by Baoshan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., Shanghai, on June 24, for 'high magnetic flux density and low iron loss non-oriented electrical steel sheet, and manufacturing method therefor.'

Inventor(s) include Zhang, Feng; LV, Xuejun; Fang, Xianshi; Wang, Bo; and Cui, Min.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A high magnetic flux density and low iron loss non-oriented electrical steel sheet, comprising the following chemical elements in percentage by mass: 0C=0.0030%; Si: 1.20-2.40%; Mn: 0.10-0.40%; Al: 0.10-0.60%; and the remainder being Fe and inevitable impurities, wherein the sum of Si and Al is 1.30-2.80%. Correspondingly, the present application further discloses a manufacturing method for the high magnetic flux density and low iron loss non-oriented electrical steel sheet. The manufacturing method comprises the steps of: smelting and casting; heating; rough rolling, finish rolling, and coiling, wherein the number of rough rolling passes is controlled to be 2-4, and the reduction rate of the last rough rolling pass is 51%-67%; in a temperature drop process after coiling, controlling the temperature drop rate to be 1.0-4.0 C/min within the range of 400-650 C; carrying out direct acid pickling without normalization annealing, and then carrying out cold rolling; and carrying out continuous annealing and applying an insulating coating."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 09, 2024, under International application No.PCT/CN2024/071433.
