MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202443039301 A) filed by Versa Drives Private Limited, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on May 20, 2024, for 'high efficient blades for ceiling fan.'

Inventor(s) include Durgasharan Krishnamurthy.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to twisted blades for ceiling fan (100), that can supply more air at a slower speed. The blade assembly (102) of the fan (100) has a thin aerofoil construction (114) in its cross section. The fan (100) is run by a brushless DC (BLDC) electric motor (104) or an induction motor (104). The chord length of blades (114) taper down from the hub (118) to the tip (116). The thin aerofoil construction blades (114) have a positive twist both at the hub (118) and the tip (116). The thin aerofoil construction blades (114) have a continually varying twist blade angle in order to maintain the angle of attack required for the generation of optimum lift."
