Abstract: ABSTRACT "HEXAGONAL RATCHET RING IN HYDRAULIC TENSIONER" A locking mechanism in hydraulic tensioner according to present invention comprises a hollow cylindrical housing (101) having an open top (101a) and a closed bottom wall (101b); a plunger (102), having a tip portion (102a) and 5 a closed bottom wall (101b), longitudinally slidably fitted into the hollow cylindrical housing (101) and a high-pressure oil chamber (108); a spring (106), facing closed bottom wall (101c) of the hollow cylindrical housing (101), the integrated plunger with check valve system is fixed with hexagonal ratchet type ring (107) and inserted in housing (101); which helps to integrate plunger with 10 positive locking while operating to specific distance stroke. Hexagonal ratchet ring (107) fixed at the bottom of plunger groove (102) and locked in the housing with its corners/vertices which prevents the plunger sub assembly to get pop out from housing during the working condition of the tensioner.
