MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421037921 A) filed by Dr. Chandrakumar Deshmukh, Pune, Maharashtra, on May 14, 2024, for 'herbal formulations for diabetes and metabolic stasis.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention related to the composition comprising the combination of dried and powdered Kiratatikta (Swertia chirata) leaves, Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) roots, Triphala [Amalaki (Phyllanthus emblica), Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica), and Haritaki (Terminalia chebula)] Fruits of Myrobalan family, Kutaj (Holarrhena antidysenterica Linn) Stem/Bark and its process of preparation. The combination of the invention is used to control the serum sugar for improving and maintaining the diabetes, hormonal imbalance and facilitate in Pancreatic cells regeneration when administered in a prescribed dose and duration of therapy. It is also aided to synergize the ongoing therapy other than herbal/Ayurvedic medication, to obtain hormonal statis and cure for Pancreatitis."
