MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611052564 A) filed by Chitkara University, Rajpura, Punjab, on April 24, for 'herbal anti-acne cream formulation comprising pre-dispersed herbal actives in a stable oil-in-water emulsion.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a herbal anti-acne cream formulated as a stable oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion for topical application. The formulation comprises an aqueous phase including rose water, distilled water, aloe vera gel, and glycerin; an oil phase including coconut oil, neem oil, tea tree oil, and vitamin E; and herbal actives comprising neem paste and tulsi paste incorporated in a pre-dispersed form. The formulation further includes emulsifying wax and cetyl alcohol as emulsifier and stabilizer, respectively, along with green tea extract, a preservative, and optional fragrance. The cream is prepared using controlled emulsification and homogenization techniques to achieve uniform distribution, reduced grittiness, and enhanced stability. The invention provides a safe, stable, and effective herbal composition for the management of acne."
