MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531020409 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 6, for 'health monitoring enabled walking assistive device with seat for elderly.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A health monitoring enabled walking assistive device with seat for elderly, comprising an elongated body 101 terminated with a handgrip at upper end that is gripped by a user for positioning lower end of body 101 on a ground surface, a heating pad and thermoelectric cooling pads, provides optimum heating/cooling effect, a display panel 102 guides user to get seated for a time-duration to regularize monitored parameters, a seat 103 incorporated in body 101 via a pivot joint 104 that deploy seat 103, two extendable rods 105 arranged with body 101, each via a motorized ball and socket joint that orient rods 105 at an optimal angle for supporting body 101 on surface, an imaging unit 106 integrated in body 101 to determine height of user, a linear actuator 107 linked with pivot joint 104 to elevate/lower seat 103 till an optimum height."
