MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641006733 A) filed by Simi John; and Nikhil Biju, Idukki, Kerala, on Jan. 23, for 'hazard-safe waste container with embedded legal symbols for regulatory-compliance waste transportation.'

Inventor(s) include Simi John; and Nikhil Biju.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Hazard-Safe Waste Container with Embedded Legal Symbols for Regulatory-Compliance Waste Transportation This invention describes a hazard-safe waste transport container that integrates visual legal symbolism into its structural design to enhance regulatory compliance and public risk awareness during the handling of hazardous and industrial waste. The container features a chemically inert, reinforced polymeric body with triangular ribs mimicking hazard signage for structural and symbolic utility. Raised ornamental bands embossed with regulatory classification symbols-such as flames, skulls, and eco-leaves-are permanently integrated, ensuring visual clarity and non-removability. The crown-shaped lid with gear-tooth edges adds tamper resistance, regulatory symbolism, and improved grip. The visual elements do not alter the container's core material or structural function but serve to communicate legal waste categories under Indian hazardous waste transport rules. This legally intuitive and standardized design improves identification, durability, and compliance with the Indian Designs Act, 2000, across waste transport sectors including industrial, municipal, and interstate waste logistics."
