MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441078343 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Oct. 15, 2024, for 'harvesting device for leafy crops.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A harvesting device for leafy crops, comprising, a frame 1 developed to be maneuvered within an agricultural field planted with leafy crops and installed with plurality of motorized Omni-directional wheels that are dedicated towards movement of the frame 1 over the crops, an artificial intelligence enabled image capturing module 2 integrated with a processor for determining height of the crops, multiple motorized clamping units 3 attached to a front portion of the frame 1 that are directed by the crops while the frame 1 translates over the crops, a conveyer belt 4 arranged within the frame 1 for accommodating the cut crops, a weight sensor integrated inside the chamber for detecting weight of the stored crops."
