MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647040985 A) filed by Interdigital Ce Patent Holdings, Sas, Paris, on March 31, for 'haptics keyframe interpolation for streaming.'
Inventor(s) include Lecuyer, Gurvan; Galvane, Quentin; Guillotel, Philippe; and Cova Regateiro, Joao Pedro.
The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A haptic data coding device may include a processor. The device may receive an indication of a haptic band. The device may determine a haptic keyframe based on the indication of the haptic band. The haptic keyframe may be associated with a packet duration. The device may encode haptic data comprising the haptic keyframe. The device may send the encoded haptic data in a signal. The packet duration may include a timestamp. The device may obtain a first keyframe and/or a second keyframe. The first keyframe may occur before, and/or the second keyframe may occur after the timestamp. The device may determine the haptic keyframe further based on an interpolation. The interpolation may indicate a position of the keyframe based on the first keyframe, the second keyframe, and/or the timestamp. The position of the keyframe may indicate an amplitude or a frequency of the haptic band at the timestamp."
The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 25, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/076893.
