According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments herein provide a method and system for handling a slice deregistration inactivity timer of an on-demand S-NSSAI. The method includes detecting the slice inactivity deregistration timer configured for an alternative S-NSSAI by a network apparatus (302). Further, the method includes establishing a PDU session with a first S-NSSAI and the alternative S-NSSAI. Further, the method includes detecting whether the alternative S-NSSAI is the on-demand S-NSSAI and the slice inactivity deregistration timer is running. The detection is performed after the PDU session is established with the first S-NSSAI and the alternative S-NSSAI or when an existing PDU session of the first S-NSSAI is moved to the first S-NSSAI and the alternative S-NSSAI. Further, the method includes stopping the slice deregistration inactivity timer associated with the alternate S-NSSAI, when the alternative S-NSSAI is the on-demand S-NSSAI and the slice deregistration inactivity timer is running."
