MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020046 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'handheld support device for flooring operations.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A handheld support device for flooring operations which comprises of a rectangular body 1 having a first portion attached with an inverted U-shaped handle 2 and a second portion configured with multiple telescopically operated links 6 for placing the body 1 on a floor to support while performing different flooring operations, a camera 3 mounted on the body 1 for capturing multiple images of the user, a laser projection unit 4 mounted on the platform for projecting a laser at a suitable location on the handle 2 for allowing the user to maintain a proper balance while performing the operations, a pressure sensor mapped on the handle 2 for detecting pressure applied by the user on the handle 2, and multiple electromagnetic springs 5 configured between the links 6 and platform to compress/expand in view of reducing pressure applied on the ground surface by the rods."
