MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019208 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 4, for 'handheld snow/ice shattering assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Praveen Priyaranjan Nayak.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A handheld snow/ice shattering assistive device, comprising an elongated body 101 consisting a proximal and distal end, wherein a user gripping a first holding loop 102 to place the distal end near to deposited snow or ice, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 104 for monitoring exact distance of the snow or ice with respect to the body 101, an extendable hollow rod 105 for positioning a plate 106 over the snow/ice, a ball and socket joint 107 to tilt the plate 106, a tactile sensor monitors hardness of the snow or ice, a heating unit for melting the snow, a quick return arrangement 108 to move plate 106 back and forth very rapidly, multiple steel blades 109 to break the snow or ice, a GPR (Ground penetrating Radar) sensor to monitor presence of wires or cables underneath the snow/ice, a pressure sensor to monitor pressure exerted on the snow/ice."
