MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133125 A) filed by Prodancy Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'handheld pulse lavage system.'

Inventor(s) include Venkatesh Parthasarathy; Pradeep Vamana; and Saumyaa Jain.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A handheld pulse lavage system (10) for orthopedic, trauma, and general surgical irrigation is disclosed. The system features a reusable housing (100) containing a peristaltic pump (120) and user control (160), a modular power module (200) with motor (130) and rechargeable power source (135), and a single-use disposable assembly (300) forming the irrigation and suction paths. The disposable assembly includes an irrigation inlet (140) for a saline bag, a flexible pipe (145) driven by the peristaltic pump, a nozzle (146) for pulsed irrigation, a suction inlet (150), and a suction outlet (151) connectable to a vacuum source. An identifier tag (310) on the disposable is read by an identifier reader (170) to enable motor operation only with authorized disposables. The design is differentiated by a robust pump and isolated fluid path eliminating the need to discard the pump housing after use."
