MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010725 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'handheld farm produce peeling device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A handheld farm produce peeling device comprises of an elongated extendable body 1 gripped by a user, a rotatable disc 3 is installed with a first portion of the body 1 via an L-shaped rod 4 for accommodating a farm produce to be peeled, an ultrasonic sensor positioned on the body 1 for detecting dimensions of the user's hand, a laser acuity sensor arranged on each of the rings 2 for detecting diameter of the user's fingers, a motorized iris lid 6 embedded within each of the rings 2 to close for gripping the user's fingers within the rings 2, a camera 7 mounted on the body 1 for capturing multiple images of the farm produce, and a pneumatic blade 10 installed within a rectangular extendable frame 9 via a pair of motorized pivot joints 11 for peeling the produce."
