MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024154 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'hand support device for public transport vehicles.'
Inventor(s) include Satyam Sai Parwan; Sungadhi Grover; Navdeep Prashar; Rajni Verma; Ashish Verma; Krishna Kalsi; and Manish Sharma.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand support device for public transport vehicles, comprising a cylindrical-shaped frame 1 having a pair of curved horizontal plates developed of be positioned in proximity to hand rails of a public transport vehicle, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 installed on the frame 1 to determine dimensions of the hand rails, a J-shaped extendable bar 3 attached with the frame 1 and extending in downward direction, a wearable body 4 attached with the frame 1 developed to be worn by the user over palm portion and damper 5 integrated on the frame 1 for absorbing jerk/shock experienced on the frame 1, thereby providing the user a stable and secure holding support inside the vehicle and eliminate chances of falling of the user due to sudden jerk and shock."
