MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022379 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 22, 2024, for 'hand shielding device for rider.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand shielding device for rider, comprising a pair of cylindrical bodies 1 installed with a motorized iris lid 2 to accommodate handlebars of a two wheeler, an imaging unit 3 installed over the bodies 1 to determine dimensions of the handle, a motorized roller 4 installed over the bodies 1 wrapped with a strap to rotate for securing with the user's arm, plurality of Peltier units arranged with the bodies 1 to maintain appropriate temperature around the arms, a moisture sensor installed within each of the bodies 1 to determine presence of moisture over hands of the user, an air blower 5 installed in the bodies 1 to blow air for removing the moisture and an air compressor installed with the bodies 1 to inflate an inflatable unit 7 configured with the bodies 1 to prevent the arms from any impact due to falling."
