MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006907 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'hand operated glass breaking device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Manjit Singh; Gurkirat Singh; Navneet Singh; and Lovepreet Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand operated glass breaking device comprises of a C-shaped hollow frame 1 positioned on a glass, a handle 2 for providing grip to a user while positioning frame 1 on glass, a touch sensor detecting placement of frame 1 for actuating a pair of suction units 3 for generating negative pressure in order to affix with glass to mount frame 1 on glass, a microphone 4 provide input voice commands regarding breaking of glass, a folding arrangement 6 actuated by microcontroller to deploy a canopy in order to prevent injury to user while breaking of glass, a pair of telescopic bars 5 extending to compress a pair of electromagnetic springs 8 in order to strike a pointed member 9 attached with springs 8, and a sensing module 7 detecting thickness and hardness of glass for magnetizing and demagnetizing spring 8 that aids in striking of glass with applied force."
