MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023173 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 24, 2024, for 'hand-held trash collection and packaging device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand-held trash collection and packaging device, comprises of a cylindrical hollow body 1 having a first and second portion configured with a C-shaped detachable handle 2 gripped by a user for handling the body 1, a pair of plates 4 configured over a pair of bars 5 to accommodate spools of bags, an imaging unit 6 to determine trash near the members 3, plurality of motorized clippers 7 to collect trash in the polybag, a V-shaped unit constructed with a pair of links 8 configured with a blade 9 and heating unit to seal the polybag and multiple motorized hinges configured between member and the body 1 to tilt the members 3 for preventing falling of trash out of the polybag."
