MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022620 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 22, 2024, for 'hand-held tile fixation device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand-held tile fixation device comprises a cuboidal body 1 configured with a handle 2 for providing movement grip to the user while handling the body 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed on the platform generates a 3D mapping of the surroundings, a touch interactive display panel 4 displays the generated map and enabling user to select a portion of the surface the user desires to affix tiles on the surface, a holographic projection unit 5 projects a holographic image on the surface, a touch sensor installed on the body 1 detects positioning of the body 1 over the surface, plurality of suction units 6 configured underneath the body 1 to grip the tile, plurality of vibrating units configured underneath the body 1 to produce vibrations, and an ultrasonic sensor installed on the body 1 to detect presence and dimensions of gap in between two neighboring tiles."
