MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019853 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 5, for 'hand-held teeth aligner removal/ fixation device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Tanmayee Khuntia.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand-held teeth aligner removal/ fixation device comprising, an elongated body 101 having a handle 102 for acquiring grip over body 101, a hollow rod 103 arranged with a free end of body 101 positioned by user near to mouth between user's jaws, a microphone 104 embedded on body 101 for receiving commands regarding fixing/removal of aligner, an imaging unit 105 embedded on body 101 to detect condition of buccal cavity along with monitoring alignment of teeth aligners, a pair of motorized gripper 106 fabricated with silicon material and installed on rod 103 to acquire grip over aligner, a plate 107 integrated with plurality of flaps 108 interconnected by means of multiple hinges 109 arranged on body 101 via an extendable L-shaped link 110 to extend for positioning plate 107 near to buccal cavity of user followed by acquiring shape of buccal cavity to flatten and fix aligner with teeth."
