MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025524 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'hand-held sanding assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ramandeep Saini; Dr. Seema Rani; and Gurleen Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand-held sanding assistive device, comprising an extendable cylindrical frame 1 developed to be handheld by a user in proximity to a workpiece, a handle 2 attached with the frame 1 for providing grip to the user, an imaging unit 3 mapped on the frame 1 to evaluate a 3D (three-dimensional) mapping of surroundings, a display panel 4 mounted on the frame 1 for enabling a user to give input commands, a holographic projection unit 5 mapped on the frame 1 to project a holographic image over user-specified portion, a hydraulic V-shaped member 6 attached with the frame 1, a motorized roller 7 arranged on the frame 1 and coupled with ends of the member 6 via a conveyor belt 8 to provide rotational motion to the belt 8 in view of sanding the workpiece and a motorized air blower 9 arranged on the frame 1 to blow air."
