MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022850 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 23, 2024, for 'hand-held metallic nail segregation assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand-held metallic nail segregation assistive device, comprising a cylindrical shaped frame 1 having a first and second portion, a handle 2 attached with first portion gripped by a user for positioning the frame 1 over a container stored with metallic nails, an imaging unit 3 installed on the frame 1 to detect exact location of metallic nails present near the body, a U-shaped member 4 configured with plurality of pneumatic pins 5 arranged on second portion of the frame 1 for segregating the nails upon pressing of a triggering unit, a slider for translating the pins 5 to create gap in between two consecutive pins 5, a speaker 6 mounted on frame 1 to produce voice commands guiding the user to provide linear motion to frame 1, a ball and socket joint 7 configured between the member 4 and second portion to deploy the gripped nail into auxiliary box."
