MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019320 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'hand-held knitting device.'

Inventor(s) include Rajesh Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand-held knitting device, includes a platform 1 positioned by a user in proximity to a wooden frame to be knitted, a chamber 3 for storing a strap roll 4, a container 5 for storing multiple nails, an imaging unit 7 captures and processes multiple images of frame, accordingly an microcontroller evaluates a 3-Dimensional mapping of frame that is displayed over a display panel 8 and accessed by user to input a pattern to knit on frame accordingly a projector 9 projects images on frame to assist user to place platform 1 on frame, a first gripper 10 grips a free end of strap and places over frame, a second gripper 12 withdraws and places one of nails over free end, a scotch yoke arrangement 13 provides a reciprocatory motion to an attached hammer 14 to apply pressure over placed nail for securing of the free end over the frame."
