MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531020399 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 6, for 'hand-held hoof maintenance assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Byomakesh Dash.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand-held hoof maintenance assistive device, comprises of a cylindrical-shaped body 101 developed to be positioned by a user over a hoof of an animal, a handle 102 attached with body 101 for providing grip to user while handling body 101, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 103 installed on body 101 to determine dimensions of animal's lower limb, a robotic link 104 attached with free-end of body 101 and arranged with a C-shaped clamping unit 105 for griping heel of animal in a secured manner, a motorized slider crank arrangement 106 assembled on body 101 for providing linear reciprocatory movement to a blade 107 attached with arrangement 106 in view of trimming hoof without causing discomfort."
