MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022361 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 22, 2024, for 'hand-held hair curling device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hand-held hair curling device comprises of, an elongated frame 1 gripped by a user and arranged with a heating rod 2, a heating unit arranged with the heating rod 2 to allow the user to curl hair using the heating rod 2, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 installed on the frame 1 for detecting distance of the rod 2 from the user's face, an L-shaped link arranged on the frame 1 via an extendable flap 5 that is assembled with the frame 1, to extend for covering the user's face, a telescopically operated rod 2 mounted on the frame 1 via a triangular-shaped member that is embedded with the frame 1 to prevent contact of the rod 2 with the fixed surface and a microphone mounted on the frame 1 to give voice commands for placing the rod 2 on a fixed surface."
