MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517092271 A) filed by Dow Silicones Corporation; Union Carbide Corporation; and Rohm And Haas Company, Midland, U.S.A., on Sept. 25, for 'hair styling formulation.'

Inventor(s) include Zeng, Fanwen; Joshi, Kinjalbahen; Shulman, Inna; Delvalle, Cindy; Carter, Matthew; Yin, Ligeng; and Johnson, Bethany K.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hair styling polymer is provided, comprising: a cosmetically acceptable carrier; and a hair styling polymer, comprising: 70 to 95 wt%, based on dry polymer, of monoethylenically unsaturated vinyl alkanoate monomer having 4-13 carbon atoms; 5 to 30 wt%, based on dry weight of the hair styling polymer, of structural units of monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid/carboxylic anhydride functionalized vinyl ester monomer having 4-12 carbon atoms; 0 to 5 wt%, based on dry weight of the hair styling polymer, of structural units of a multiethlenically unsaturated crosslinking monomer; and 0 to 20 wt%, based on dry weight of the hair styling polymer, of structural units of an other monoethylenically unsaturated monomer, wherein the other monoethylenically unsaturated monomer is different from the monoethylenically unsaturated vinyl alkanoate monomer having 4-13 carbon atoms and the monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid/carboxylic anhydride functionalized vinyl ester monomer having 4-12 carbon atoms."
