MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014283 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'hair styling assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Charu Mehan; Dr. Ramandeep Saini; and Devansh Bansal.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hair styling assistive device, comprising a cylindrical frame 1 having multiple semi-cylindrical members 2 positioned on hairs of a user, a microphone 4 accessed by user to input details regarding type of hair style, a density sensor detects hair density of user, two clamping units 5 grasp suitable amount of user's hairs and insert in members 2, a drawer arrangement for securing hairs within members 2, a sliding arrangement 6 for providing a rotational movement to members 2, a speaker 7 notifies user to move frame 1 in downward direction and simultaneously sliding arrangement 6 rotate members 2 to style user's hairs, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 8 installed on frame 1 which determines any entanglement of hairs, if detected then multiple telescopic bristles 9 extend and simultaneously speaker 7 notify user to move frame 1 in downward direction for combing hairs."
