MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517070114 A) filed by Interdigital Ce Patent Holdings, Sas, Paris, on July 23, for 'guided conversions between two different dynamic ranges with new metadata.'

Inventor(s) include Touze, David; Morvan, Patrick; Cauvin, Laurent; and Plissonneau, Frederic.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method comprising: obtaining (601) input video data in an input dynamic range and interoperability metadata; converting (602) the input video data in output video data in an output dynamic range using the interoperability metadata; wherein, the interoperability metadata comprise at least one information among an information representing an HDR diffuse white value, an information representing an SDR diffuse white value, an information representing an HDR narrow range value, an information representing an HDR narrow full range value, an information representing an SDR narrow full range maximum value and an information representing narrow full range minimum value."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 16, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/053976.
