MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641050540 A) filed by Easwari Engineering College; and Srm Institute Of Science And Technology, Ramapuram Campus, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 21, for 'guardiannet - distributed safety intelligence system.'
Inventor(s) include Naveen Kumar S; Jayagokulavarman P. P; Hemabooshan N; and Mrs K Hema Priya.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Guardiannet is a Distributed Safety Intelligence System designed to enhance road safety through real-time monitoring and intelligent hazard detection. The system integrates computer vision, motion sensing, and IoT-based communication to identify potential risks such as obstacles, accidents, and system failures. Using a camera-enabled interface powered by AI-based object detection, the system continuously analyzes the environment and alerts the driver when unexpected objects are detected. Additionally, vibration sensing enables the detection of sudden impacts, indicating possible accidents. The system is designed to operate in a distributed manner, where multiple nodes (vehicles or devices) can independently detect hazards and share critical information. A map-based interface further enhances situational awareness by visualizing location data. Guardiannet aims to provide a low-cost, scalable, and efficient solution for improving safety in transportation systems, especially in environments lacking advanced infrastructure, thereby contributing to smarter and safer mobility."
