MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011906 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 12, for 'grown water spinach laying device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Seshadev Sahoo.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A grown water spinach laying device, comprises of a platform 101 positioned on an agricultural field grown with water spinach, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 103 mounted on the platform 101 for detecting exact location of the spinach, plurality of motorized omnidirectional wheels 102 configured underneath platform 101 for maneuvering the platform 101 through the spinach, a plate 104 installed parallelly over the platform 101 via a telescopically operated link 105 and installed with a U-shaped frame 106 via a pair of rods 107 for positioning the frame 106 at the determined height, a motorized roller 108 configured with the frame 106 and equipped with plurality of pins for preventing tangling of the spinach, an electronic nozzle 109 installed on the platform 101 and paired with a chamber 110 stored with pesticide solution, to prevent spinach from any damage from pest."
