MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517072889 A) filed by Nippon Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on July 31, for 'grooving method, grooving device, and grain-oriented electrical steel sheet.'
Inventor(s) include Sakai Tatsuhiko; and Hamamura Hideyuki.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a grooving method for forming grooves on a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet, wherein: the method includes a grooving step for forming, by scanning a laser beam, linear grooves at constant intervals or non-constant intervals in a rolling direction of the grain-oriented electrical steel sheet, such that the grooves have a maximum depth of 10 to 50 m and extend in the scanning direction, which is a direction parallel to a width direction of the grain-oriented electrical steel sheet, the width direction being perpendicular to the rolling direction, or a direction tilted by a prescribed angle from the width direction; the laser beam has a center irradiation section, which is a region including a center of an optical path of the laser beam through which the laser beam is irradiated, and a peripheral irradiation section, which is a region in the periphery of the center irradiation section irradiated with the laser beam; and the energy density [J/cm2] of the center irradiation section is set to be greater than the energy density [J/cm2] of the peripheral irradiation section."
The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 15, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/005171.
