MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023571 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'grommet installation device for fabrics.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Saraswati Ghosh; and Dr. Gaurav Bhardwaj.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A grommet installation device for fabrics, comprising a body 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, a touch interactive display panel 3 enables user for providing input regarding number of grommets to be installed on a length of fabric, a L-shaped rod 4 arranged integrated with a cylindrical structure 5, a hydraulic link 7 coupled with an electromagnetically powered spring 8 is accessed by the user for engaging one of multiple grommet rings stored in a storage chamber arranged in the body 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 9 monitors alignment of the fabric on the slot 6, a circular cutting blade 2 integrated on end of spring 8 over fabric applies a pushing force on fabric which in turn punch a hole on fabric along with installing rings on punched hole."
