MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514089251 A) filed by Illinois Tool Works Inc., Glenview, U.S.A., on Sept. 18, 2025, for 'grommet apparatus.'
Inventor(s) include Vollmer, Gerit; and Sbongk, Albert.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "According to the invention, a grommet apparatus is provided for the passage of lines through a substantially slot-shaped component opening. The grommet apparatus 5 comprises, among other things, a tubular, resiliently expandable cable passage por-tion extending along a central axis between a first end and a second end and a con-nection portion having a flange-like edge region surrounding the cable passage portion circumferentially for fastening the grommet apparatus in the component opening, com-prising at least a plurality of first stiffening ribs that extend radially aligned outwardly 10 circumferentially while being spaced apart from one another from one end of the cable passage portion to the central axis."
