MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531109136 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology, Rourkela, Orissa, on Nov. 10, for 'grid-interactive photovoltaic-battery storage (pv-bs) system.'
Inventor(s) include Anup Kumar Panda; Prerana Mohapatra; Venkata Ramana Naik N; Satya Brata Behera; Sameer Kumar Behera; Rajesh Kumar Lenka; and Swapnajit Pattnaik.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a grid-interactive photovoltaic-battery storage (PV-BS) system. The system comprises a photovoltaic (PV) unit to generate DC power, a battery storage unit (BS) coupled to a DC link of said PV unit through a bidirectional DC-DC buck-boost (BDCBB) converter, a voltage source converter (VSC) coupled between the DC link and point of common coupling (PCC) of the grid and a control unit for grid power quality and seamless control including BS charging and discharging under a constant-current/constant-voltage (CC/CV) charging strategy via the BDCBB converter including controlling switching of the VSC and seamless transition between grid-interactive mode (GIM) and standalone mode (SM) based on state-of-charge (SoC) of the BS and grid parameters including grid current component."
