MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133983 A) filed by Dr. Mahalingam Collegeo Of Engineering And Technnology, Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'graphite carbon nitride embedded zinc oxide as composite electrode material for supercapacitor appli.'
Inventor(s) include N. Chithra; S. Parveen; and B. Saravanakumar.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses a novel ZnO/g-C3N4 composite as electrode material and a preparation method thereof The method comprises the following steps: preparing In-situ preparation of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) embedded ZnO. We synthesized ZnO/ gCJN4 through a thermal decomposition method. The synthesized catalyst was characterized using various techniques such FTIR, XRD, FESEM, EDS and XPS. SEM images revealed the formation of ZnO nanospheres and g-C3N4. For supercapacitor applications, graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is a highly nitrogen-containing carbonaceous material with good cycle stability. Current research reveal that integrating transition metal oxides to g-C3N4 greatly increases its specific capacitance."
