MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122224 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'graph neural network system for social network influence prediction.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Adrija Bhattacharya; Mr. Aritra Majumder; Mr. Jayant Monga; and Mr. Bhavya Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system for influence maximization in social networks. The system includes a data processing module configured to receive node feature data having behavioral attributes of network nodes, receive network structure data having adjacency relationships between nodes, calculate centrality metrics for each node using the network structure data, and generate an influentiality score for each node using a weighted formula that applies nonlinear transformations to the behavioral attributes and centrality metrics. The system includes a model training module configured to train at least one graph neural network model using the node feature data, centrality metrics, and influentiality scores as training data. The system includes a prediction module configured to generate influence predictions for network nodes using the trained graph neural network model."
