MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019219 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 4, for 'grain sorting assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A grain sorting assistive device comprising an elliptical shaped frame 101 to accommodate grains, a pair of handle 102 at vertices of frame 101 gripped by a user, a push button 104 integrated on the handle 102 to activate the device for separating grains from impurities, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 105 installed on the frame 101 to detect accommodation and dimensions of the grains, plurality of strips 103 arranged over the frame 101 via a motorized slider providing translation to strips 103 to adjust gapping between the consecutive strips 103, a motorized sliding unit 106 arranged between each vertices of the frame 101 and the handle 102 to provide back and forth movement to the frame 101 for winnowing the spherical grains and an auxiliary container positioned in proximity to device for collecting the separated grains."
