MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517091553 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Sept. 24, for 'grain-oriented electrical steel sheet and wound core.'

Inventor(s) include Imamura Takeshi; Nakai Yoshie; Harada Akifumi; and Yamaguchi Hiroi.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet which has a component composition that contains 0.0050 mass% or less of C, 2.0-8.0 mass% of Si, and 0.02-1.0 mass% of Mn, with the balance being made up of Fe and unavoidable impurities, and which has a base coating film that is mainly composed of forsterite on the surface of a base material steel sheet, wherein the number density of inclusions having a diameter of 0.5-3.0 m present inside the base material steel sheet is 1.0-20.0 inclusions/mm2. This grain-oriented electrical steel sheet has excellent magnetic characteristics and achieves excellent accuracy when bent. Also provided is a wound core which uses this grain-oriented electrical steel sheet."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 28, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/012849.
