MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517097384 A) filed by Nippon Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Oct. 9, for 'grain-oriented electrical steel sheet.'

Inventor(s) include Iwaki Masataka; Tanaka Tomohito; and Kataoka Takashi.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This grain-oriented electrical steel sheet has a plurality of linear strains extending in a direction of 60-120 with respect to the longitudinal direction introduced on the surface thereof, wherein: the longitudinal intervals between the plurality of adjacent linear strains are 2-10 mm; the width of the linear strains, which is the width in the direction perpendicular to the direction of extension of the linear strains, periodically increases and decreases in the direction of extension of the linear strains, the period being 200-400 m; between adjacent linear strains from among the plurality of linear strains, the period of the change in width shifts in the direction of extension of the linear strains by an amount corresponding to 0.4-0.6 periods; the ratio between the maximum width and minimum width is 1.2-8.0; and the minimum width is 30 m or above."

The patent application was internationally filed on Apr. 26, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/016517.
