MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541112678 A) filed by Sri Eshwar College Of Engineering, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Nov. 14, 2025, for 'gosure - secure mobile-driven bus tracking and passenger information system (no dedicated on-vehicle hardware).'
Inventor(s) include Ms. Sowmiya S; Mr. Shalman M; and Mr. Sre Deva J.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention, GoSure, provides a secure and tamper resistant system for real-time tracking and management of buses in public transportation. The system ensures that each device used by drivers and conductors is registered, verified and cryptographically bound to the assigned vehicle and session. By using secure key storage and biometric verification, the system issues session tokens that allow only authorized devices to send telemetry data. Location, speed, and event information are signed on the device and verified by a backend service, which also detects anomalies and validates the vehicle's movement along planned routes. Passengers receive accurate estimated time of arrival updates based on verified data, while fallback mechanisms such as SMS ensure continuity during poor network conditions. All critical events, including shift start, checkpoints, passenger boarding, device swaps, anomalies, and trip end, are recorded as hashed entries in an immutable audit record. This provides a tamper evident record for regulatory compliance and dispute resolution, giving both operators and passengers confidence in the reliability of the system. Additionally, artificial intelligence is used to assist administrators in scheduling routes and assigning personnel, while preserving oversight and traceability. The invention offers a reliable, secure and transparent solution for public transportation, particularly in environments prone to device tampering, connectivity interruptions, and operational uncertainties."
