MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311083993 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 8, 2023, for 'goods transportation device for staircase.'
Inventor(s) include Manish Sharma; and Pradeep Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A goods transportation device for staircase, comprises of multiple links 1 adjacently connected in a zig-zag manner, links 1 are interconnected between a rod 2 positioned on a last step of a staircase and a hydraulic bar 3 positioned on a first step of a staircase, upon determining the placement of good in contact with clamp 4, via a touch sensor, the microcontroller actuates a C-shaped motorized clamp 4 for gripping good in a secured manner, a camera 5 detects height of rod 2, based on which microcontroller actuates bar 3 to extend in view of maintaining an optimum balance of good and a motorized hinges 6 configured between adjacent links 1 that is actuated by microcontroller for gradually tilting adjacent links 1 towards each other maneuvering of bar 3 towards rod 2 via a tri-wheel assembly 7, thereby transporting good to last step of staircase."
