MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641019836 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 20, for 'glove for hyperhidrosis.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Vignesh Srinivasan; Dr. Keren Christiana D; and Dr. Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The glove for hyperhidrosis invention relates: to a therapeutic glove designed for the managefnent of palmar hyperhidrosis, a condition charac.terized by excessive sweating of the hands. Old gloves that are used for hyperhidrosis causes skin irritation and allergies due to the chemicals, additives or powders used in the gloves. Excessive sweating can make wearing regular gloves uncomfortable, as the moisture that gets trapped inside and increase the risk of fungal infections, and reduce both grip .and hand control. This glove for hyperhidrosis is constmcted using multi-layered materials that combine moisture and maintain skin comfort. The inner layer is composed of soft, sweat-absorbent fabric to wick away moisture, while the middle layer contains moisture-lock materials-silica gel. The outer layer (cool max fabric) provides durability, flexibility and air permeability ensuring prolonged use without discomfort. This invention provides a non-invasive, reusable and user friendly solution for individuals with hyperhidrosis, improving hand dryness, comfort and confidence in daily and clinical Applications."
