MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023080 A) filed by Bennett University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on March 24, 2024, for 'gesture recognition for interactive robotic systems.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Madhushi Verma; and Dr. Shakti Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a gesture recognition system designed for interactive robotic systems. The system comprises a sensor array that collects real-time data associated with human gestures. A machine learning model is trained using a dataset consisting of prior human gestures and their corresponding robotic actions. This trained model recognizes and classifies the human gestures based on the collected real-time data. A control unit receives the results of gesture recognition from the machine learning model and controls the robot to perform the appropriate actions accordingly."
