MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004724 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 23, 2024, for 'gesture controlled digital display device.'

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A gesture controlled digital display device includes a platform 1 mounted over wall surface via multiple suction cups 2, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting height of platform 1 from ground, a sliding unit 3 positions two members 4 at an optimum height on wall, a user-interface installed in linked computing unit, to connect with restaurant's server, a Light Emitting Diode panel 5 assembled on one of members 4 displays name of dishes included in menu, an imaging unit 6 identifies any approaching individual and accordingly projection unit 7 assembled on other member 4 projects a holographic image of dish inside member 4, a rain sensor detects presence of rain and accordingly a slider 8 assembled on each member 4 translates wiper 9 to clean panel 4 and members 4, a gesture sensor synced with imaging unit 6 for detecting gestures performed by user to change displayed dish and projected images."
