According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Gesture and Voice Controlled Wheelchair with Obstacle Detection and Wireless Communication The present invention relates to assistive mobility systems, specifically to a multi-modal wheelchair control apparatus integrating gesture recognition, voice command processing, and obstacle detection. The system addresses the challenge of limited accessibility in conventional wheelchair controls for users with impaired motor function. It comprises a wearable gesture-based transmitter with motion sensors, a receiver module mounted on the wheelchair with motor drivers, and a voice control subsystem using Bluetooth communication. An ultrasonic sensor provides real-time obstacle detection, enabling emergency stop functionality. The gesture and voice control subsystems can operate independently or in combination, providing redundancy for enhanced reliability and user adaptability. The system operates via wireless communication and is powered by rechargeable batteries. Designed for modularity and low-cost implementation, the invention enhances autonomous mobility and safety for users with physical disabilities."
