MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541129846 A) filed by Kit-Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute Of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 22, 2025, for 'gellan-stabilized chitinase-edta-nisin antimicrobial composite.'

The optimized formulation enhances membrane permeability and delivers potent bactericidal activity against multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae. Experimental evaluations demonstrate strong, dosedependent inhibition superior to standard antibiotics. The invention provides a novel, multifunctional therapeutic platform for advanced infection control applications."
