MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004722 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 23, 2024, for 'gear lever locking device for four-wheeler vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A gear lever locking device for four-wheeler vehicle, comprising an elongated body 1 having a first and second portion 2, 3, the first portion 2 is configured with cylindrical hollow member 4, a laser acuity sensor configured with member 4 for detecting diameter of handbrake, multiple pneumatic links 5 configured within body 1 to extend grip handbrake via a suction cup 6, a camera 8 mounted on body 1 for capturing multiple images of gear lever, a speaker 14 for notifying user to position gear level at neutral location, a telescopically operate gripper 9 configured on body 1 for positioning gear lever at neutral location, a C-shaped extendable member 10 configured with second portion 3 via a telescopically operated bar 11, an electromagnet 13 configured at free-end for adhering free-end with bar 11 and a fingerprint sensor for enabling user to fed fingerprints for unlocking gear lever."
