MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641051897 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 23, for 'gas stove monitoring and safety control system.'
Inventor(s) include J Krish Kumar; R Akash; Deepa T; S Angalaeswari; Aravindkumar S; and Marabathina Maheedhar.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a gas stove monitoring and safety control system (100) for monitoring and controlling operation of a gas stove. The system includes a microcontroller unit (102), a gas sensing unit (104) communicably coupled to microcontroller unit (102) to detect concentration of combustible gases, a thermal sensing unit (106) communicably coupled to the microcontroller unit (102) to detect a temperature profile, and a knob position sensing unit (108) communicably coupled to microcontroller unit (102) to detect an angular position of a gas control knob. An actuation unit (110) operatively connected to the microcontroller unit (102) is mechanically coupled to the gas control knob to regulate gas flow. A wireless communication interface (112) is communicably coupled to the microcontroller unit (102). The microcontroller unit (102) processes received signals to determine an operational state and generates a control signal to interrupt gas flow upon detection of a hazardous condition."
