MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026181 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 29, 2024, for 'gadget holding assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Mahipal Singh; Sandeep Kumar; Ravi Kumar Bhatnagar; and Sunil Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A gadget holding assistive device, comprising a U-shaped rod 1 configured with plurality of sections positioned over a fixed surface, each section by means of a motorized hinge joint 2 to regulate shape of rod 1 as per requirement, an imaging unit 3 determines dimensions of fixed surface, a gripper 4 installed with each end of rod 1 to grip fixed surface securely, a microphone 5 receive voice command of user regrading positioning of rod 1 at specific height, a T-shaped holding unit 6 at user-specified height in order to enable user to access holding unit 6 to position a gadget that is to be held in proximity to holding unit 6, a laser sensor to determine dimensions of gadget, plurality of motorized extendable clamps 7 installed over holding unit 6 to extend and grip gadget with detected dimensions and a biometric sensor 8 to receive biometrics of user."
