MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511126653 A) filed by Swami Rama Himalayan University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Dec. 15, 2025, for 'fully automated donor station (fads).'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Manish Raturi; Mr. Adityaveer Sahrawat; Mr. Y. Robindro Singh; Dr. Yashaswi Dhiman; and Dr. Dushyant Singh Gaur.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a Fully Automated Donor Station (FADS) designed to enhance donor safety, comfort, and overall blood donation experience while actively preventing vaso-vagal reactions (VVR). The FADS integrates an automated calf massager, dynamically adjustable recliner, insulated neck-rest ice pack, and digital control interface. Real-time physiological monitoring records heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, and orthostatic stress markers. An embedded AI algorithm predicts onset of VVR and triggers automated interventions such as calf massage, recliner tilt, or staff alerts. Donors can select blood bag type, adjust massage intensity, and provide real-time feedback via audio or video. Data is synchronized with cloud-based blood management systems for traceability. The FADS standardizes donor workflow, improves venous return, prevents fainting, and provides a safe, comfortable, and efficient blood donation environment."
